Lincoln LaunchPad – How to Begin!

  • A team may consist of 2-6 students (No less, No more).
  • Team members can be from any grade level or any classroom.
  • Team members could be your friends or other students in your neighborhood.
  • Your “Popup Business” needs a name.

Team Managers

  • Each team needs two Team Managers, who are parents/guardians from the team.
  • Team Managers are responsible to assist the students execute or help launch “the business”. Consider them your “Advisory Board Members!”
  • One team Manager is required to be present at the booth with the students throughout the event (At the Lincoln Spring Fair on May 20, 3pm – 7pm)
  • Team Managers are also responsible to assist the students manage transactions, and finally help them calculate the profits.

White Board to Product/Service/Entertainment Shows

  • Be Creative, Be a Leader! Students are encouraged to come up with ideas for a DIY Projects/Ideas that generates revenue from either one of the category mentioned below: Funding and Donations
  • Products (hand-made articles, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, donated used items from neighborhood, Mobile Apps? surprise us!)
  • Services (Face painting, Henna/Mehndi, Hair Chalk, many more!)
  • Entertainment Show (Magic Tricks, Science at work………waiting to see your creativity!)
  • Lincoln PTA will be your first investor! Twenty eight accepted teams will each receive $45 as funding. You may use this towards buying materials for your venture.
  • You are not limited to only one investor. Students are encouraged to approach or pitch their “Popup Business” idea to potential sponsors (parents, relatives, neighborhood/local businesses etc) to raise more monetary donation or other donation items.

NOTE: All profits made during the event are donated to the school- Thank you!

Lincoln School will provide you a “Potential Sponsor Letter” to help you approach sponsors.

Launch and Manage

  • Lincoln LaunchPad is an afterschool activity; Teams are expected to execute all work after school hours. You may use recess and lunch break for brainstorming.
  • Teams are encouraged to maintain a record & receipts of their monetary funding/donations, spending, and all transactions.
  • Teams are allocated “Booths” at the Lincoln Spring Fair (Friday, May 20 from 3.45pm -6.30pm) where you can sell your product/service or perform
  • HAVE FUN! ENJOY THE PROCESS! LEARN AS YOU GO!
