Before allowing children to use the Internet please review these
safety tips from the American Library Association.
- Never give out personally identifying information such as name,
home address, school name, or phone number when visiting web sites.
- Make online use a family activity. Keep the
computer in a family room rather than the child's bedroom.
- Use filtering software like
ContentProtect,
CyberSitter or
NetNanny for the PC, and
ContentBarrier and
Mac OSX controls for Macintosh
to steer kids away from questionable sites.
