Afternoon Traffic Flow
Parents assist with Afternoon Traffic
Flow to minimize traffic tie-ups and insure child safety around
cars. Volunteers help once each week for 20 minutes.

Library Volunteer
The Library Volunteers help in the school library, checking books
in and out, returning books to shelves, and other special projects.
This is ideal for parents interested in volunteer job sharing.
Volunteers usually help weekly for 1 to 3 hours.

Lunch Yard Duty
The Lunch Yard Duty volunteers supervise children during their lunch
periods (12:20-1:15). Several people are needed each school day
to cover the kindergarten, primary, and upper grade tables and
playgrounds.

Office Copying
Parent volunteers are needed to copy classroom materials for the
teachers. Parents will be trained to use the school's professional
copy machine, and volunteers are needed for 1 to 2 hours each week.

Picture Day Volunteer
Each fall and spring the Picture Day Volunteers bring students to
and from classes for the taking of school pictures. Volunteering
is for 1 to 3 hour on the day of picture taking.

Room Parents
The Room Parents ensure the three class parties
- Halloween, Winter Holiday and Valentine's Day
- are planned and executed. The room parents also coordinate year-end
teacher recognition from the class. This is ideal for parents interested
in volunteer job sharing. You may also contact your teacher directly
to volunteer.

Running Program
This PTA-sponsored program is held at lunchtime (12:20-1:15) on Wednesdays
and Fridays throughout the year. All students (first through fifth
grade) are encouraged to participate. The Running Program Chairperson
and volunteers procure prizes and treats, track laps, cheer on
runners, and give well-earned recognition to participating students.

Vision and Hearing Test Volunteers
Vision and Hearing Test Volunteers bring students to and from classes
for the school's annual vision and hearing tests. Volunteering
is for 3 hours on the day of the test.

Special Event Volunteering
Book Fair - Chairperson, committee and event volunteers
The Book Fair is held in November and net proceeds go directly
to supporting the Lincoln library and computer lab. The Book
Fair chairperson, committee and event volunteers manage all aspects
of this week-long event.

Carnival - Chairperson, committee and event volunteers
The Lincoln Carnival is a one-day event designed
to build stronger Lincoln community ties through a day of fun and
celebration. The Carnival chairperson, committee and event volunteers
plan and implement all aspects of this event which is held on school
grounds during the last quarter of the school year.

Disaster Preparedness - Chairperson and support volunteers
The Disaster Preparedness chairperson and support volunteers prepare
disaster kits and provide support for the school's earthquake
and fire drills.

Holiday Baskets - Chairperson, committee and support volunteers
The Holiday Baskets volunteers solicit donations, then produce
and distribute holiday baskets for needy families.

Ice Cream Social - Chairperson, committee and event volunteers
The volunteers host an Ice Cream Social for the Lincoln families
in March as a means to build stronger ties within our school
community.

International Night - Chairperson, committee and event volunteers
The International NIght celebrates Lincoln's rich diversity with
exchanges of music and dance plus favorite ethnic dishes. The
volunteers are responsible for all aspects of planning and executing
this event.

The Red Ribbon Week event is about
drug and alcohol awareness. Volunteers help plan
and execute this event.

Teacher Appreciation - Chairperson, committee and event volunteers
The Teacher Appreciation Chairperson, committee and volunteers
host a Back to School Luncheon in August for teachers and organizes
the Teacher Appreciation Week in April.

The University Day volunteers produce three University Days during the school
year. These events feature guest speakers who talk about their occupations
giving students a sense of a broader universe of careers and the
educational requirements behind them.

Welcome Back Dinner - Chairperson,

The Welcome Back Dinner is held at the beginning of the year to
welcome new families and renew ties with returning students and
their families. The Welcome Dinner volunteers plan and implement
all aspects of this event.

Directory - Chairperson
The Directory chairperson gathers families' names and
addresses into a directory that is distributed to Lincoln PTA members.

PTA membership with the goal of involving all the parents.

The PTA Reflections Contest is a national contest designed to promote
creative expression through original works in such categories
as art, music, literature and photography. The Reflections Contest
volunteers promote Lincoln student participation in the contest.
